Stubby Chubby - UV Purple
The younger sibling of the Chubby Chernobyl, the Stubby Chubby is its own fly.
Rather than continuing to stretch the Chubby Chernobyl to the limits of size and color options, we decided to build this little guy from the ground up starting with the hook.
Built on a completely new chassis designed specifically for the job, the XT050 Stubby T hook, a short shank, wide gape and V-Lock forged bend make it perfect for the job.
In more natural colors than the Chernobyl, the Stubby makes a great attractor to tie on whenever caddis, stones and small terrestrials are on the water, and will float long and strong while keeping a realistic profile.
The Stubby is meant to be dropped in the fastest of water, twitched, slapped, dragged and drifted, it will never sink.
With it being tied on the award-winning Stubby T this allows us to produce them in smaller sizes from a 12 to an 18 but still keep that great hook up ratio and hold power of its larger brothers.
With thin spanflex legs, a hot butt, neutral wing, and powerful hook, this pattern will truly be an effective tool all summer long.
